• There are two primary types of clauses:
• Independent Clause: Also known as a main clause, this type of clause can stand alone as a complete sentence. For example, "She loves to read."
• Dependent Clause: Also known as a subordinate clause, this type of clause cannot stand alone as a complete sentence and depends on an independent clause to make sense. For example, "Because she loves to read."

Examples:
